There are so many different types of shoes; while we see many pairs in our lives, they’re notoriously difficult to draw.

This can make drawing cartoon shoes a challenge!

That’s why we’re here to show you how fun and easy it can still be! By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to draw an adorably fun pair of shoes.

How to Draw Cartoon Shoes

Step 1

We mentioned that drawing shoes are something artists know to be quite complicated, so we’ll break it down to make things easier.

First, we draw the top of the front of the shoe with a long curved line. A smaller one will then show where the shoe bends as it bends.

The top of the shoe then turns into a horizontal line that is also curved and wavy. This will form the underside of this upper section of the shoe, and the base will go underneath later.

Step 2

In this tutorial on drawing cartoon shoes, we’re not going to draw just any shoes! These shoes have a fun design as big eyes are at the top.

The outline of these eyes is oval, and there is also a small rounded shape between them.

So we’ll add another oval for the iris and pulp of each eye and then add another black oval inside.

That’s a lot of ovals, but it makes for some amazing eyes! That’s all there is to this step, and then we can proceed.

Step 3

Now we can add the rest of the outline for the base and back of this cartoon shoe design. Use another curved line under the bottom of the shoe.

This wavy line runs parallel to the other above and serves as the thick base of the shoe.

Next, we need to draw the back of the shoe. We’ll also see the eye of this shoe emerge, and we will draw both aspects very similar to how they were drawn on the first shoe. We will finish the second shoe in the next step!

Use a curved line for the back, and then behind the eye on the right, you can add an oval shape for the hole your foot would fit into.

Step 4

In this step, we will add the second shoe behind the first. In this second shoe, we only see the toe sticking out.

This part of your cartoon shoe design should be easy to do! In the final step of this cartoon shoe drawing guide, you’re almost ready to enjoy coloring, but first, we need to add some final details to these shoes.

We’ll also see the eye of this shoe emerge, and we will draw both aspects very similar to how they were drawn on the first shoe. We will finish the second shoe in the next step!
